Five notes, no wrong notes

Soloing sounds intimidating, but the secret is simple: the pentatonic scale has only five notes, and they almost always sound good over the chords of the key. Hence the name: penta = five.

In A minor those are A, C, D, E and G. Play those notes while someone else (or a backing track) plays Am or Em, and it sounds like a real solo.
