After playing
Wash and dry your hands before you play. Afterwards, gently wipe strings, neck and body with a clean, dry microfibre cloth to remove moisture and skin oils without scrubbing.
A more thorough clean
If needed, choose only a product the manufacturer says is suitable for your guitar's particular finish and fingerboard. Never spray directly onto the guitar or let liquid enter electronics or openings. If you do not know the finish, ask a guitar technician.
Can I use household cleaner?
It is best not to: it may harm the finish, fingerboard or electronics. Start with a dry microfibre cloth and use suitable products only when needed.
