Lesson 5: Any key with a capo
One little clamp, every key within reach.
What does a capo do?
A capo is a small clamp that presses down all the strings at one fret. That shifts your whole guitar: the open string now sounds as if it were a higher fret.
The great thing is: your fingers keep doing the shapes you already know, but the sound is a different key. The C shape with the capo on fret 2 sounds like D. The Em shape with the capo on fret 2 sounds like F♯ minor.
